Fourth Graders Visit St. Augustine

The LES fourth graders embarked on a journey to the oldest city in the state of Florida, St. Augustine.  Upon arrival, the students got to experience the Castillo De San Marcos, Florida's oldest fort.  The tour of the fort explained the significance of the fort and why the fort is revered today.  After leaving the fort, the students were taken on a narrated trolley tour of the city that included the Fountain of Youth, Flagler College, and Mission Nombre de Dios. The students also got to participate in a tour of the old city jail and the Florida Heritage Musuem.
